阴阳是《黄帝内经》的核心概念,从集合论角度,可将阴阳视为共集互补二元分类符号,简称互补阴阳.阴阳可对变量进行划分,影响变量变化的两个相反综合矢量或因素称为阴气和阳气,与变量之间类似牛顿定律中力与加速度的关系,是变化的动因.阴阳具有相对性,可进行层级分类.阴阳与西方科学符号的区别在于它不是完全抽象的,有特定内涵,不可互易,隐含秩序和结构,比抽象符号的信息量更大.阴阳二气有时具有反向变化规律,简称翘板阴阳,还有生命演化的同向变化规律,两者共同构成阴阳螺旋.中医理论注重关系,阴阳、四象阴阳和三阴三阳系统是描述中医关系的特殊符号工具,是中医理论形成的关键.

Yin and Yang is the core concept in Huang Di Nei Jing.From perspective of set theory,Yin and Yang can be regarded as a co-set complementary binary classification symbol,referred to as complementary Yin and Yang.Yin and Yang can be used to divi vari-ables,and the two opposite composite vectors or factors that affect the change of variables are called Yin Qi and Yang Qi,and the rela-tionship between Yin Qi and Yang Qi and the variables is similar to the relationship between force and acceleration in Newton's laws,which is the cause of change.Yin and Yang are relative and can be classified hierarchically.The difference between Yin and Yang and the western scientific symbols is that the former is not completely abstract with a specific connotation,is not reciprocal,implies order and structure,and has a greater amount of information than the abstract symbols.Yin and Yang sometimes have the law of reverse change,referred to as the Yin and Yang rocker,and the law of change in the same direction of the evolution of life,which together constitute the Yin and Yang spiral.TCM theories focus on relationships,and the Yin and Yang,the Four Image of Yin and Yang as well as the Three Yin and Three Yang systems are special symbolic tools to describe the relationships in TCM,which is the key to the formation of TCM theory.
