Effect of Ultrasonic Vibration on Aging Microstructure and Properties of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu Aluminum Alloy

Abstract
Ultrasonic vibration aging of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy is performed by means of tensile test at room temperature,microhardness test,conductivity test,metallographic microscope and scanning electron microanalysis(SEM)based on self-made ultrasonic vibration device.The effects of ultrasonic vibration aging time and aging regime on the microstructure and properties of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy are studied by single factor experimental design.The results show that the growth of precipitated phase is promoted by ultrasonic vibration.With the extension of ultrasonic vibration aging time,the conductivity of the alloy increases gradually,the hardness and tensile strength decrease gradually,and the elongation increases slightly.Metallographic analysis shows that the shock stress of ultrasonic vibration cuts the coarse second phase particles,making the black particles smaller and finally dissolving or disappearing.The ultrasonic vibration has no obvious effect on the grain size,shape and quantity.At the same time,the excitation stress makes the dislocation plug open,reduces the dislocation density and reduces the residual stress.The tensile fracture is observed by SEM microscope.It is found that with the extension of ultrasonic vibration time,the characteristics of ductile fracture are more obvious,the number of dimples increase significantly,the size and depth of dimples increase.关键词
