Abstract

Under the action of waves,the KC number(Keulegan-Carpenter Number)is the main dimensionless parameter influencing local scour of offshore wind power monopiles.In this paper,a 1∶14 large-scale physical model test was used to study the variation of the local scour form,equilibrium scour depth and local scour volume of large-diameter piles for offshore wind power with the KC number under the action of irregular waves.The test results show that under the condition of small KC number(KC<6),when the KC number is less than 4,the scour mainly occurs on both sides of the single pile,and the scour depth is small;when the KC number exceeds 4,the shape of the scour pit changes from the sector to an oval,and the maximum scour depth increases significantly.In the case of large KC number,the calculation method of the balance scour depth is improved by redefining the KC number,and the relationship between the local balance scour volume and the KC number is given,which can provide a forecasting method for the redundancy during the single pile protection construction.
