摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of invasive fractional microneedle radiofrequency in the treatment of melasma.Methods A total of 124 patients diagnosed with melasma were enrolled in the study and underwent a single session of invasive fractional microneedle radiofrequency therapy from May 2018 to March 2022.The modified Melasma Area and Severity Index(mMASI),Physician Global Assessment(PGA),and Patient Satisfaction were utilized to evaluate therapeutic efficacy at baseline,1 month,3 months,and 6 months post-treatment.Throughout the study,adverse reactions were concurrently observed and carefully documented.Results The mMASI scores exhibited a significant decrease after treatment compared to the baseline(P<0.001).Furthermore,at 3 months post-treatment,there was a continued decline in scores compared to 1 month after treatment(P<0.05).The PGA scores showed moderate and significant improvement in 65.32%of patients after 1 month of treatment.The Patient Satisfaction score indicated that 68.55%of patients expressed satisfaction,while 16.13%reported being highly satisfied.No adverse effects were observed during the RF treatment.The patients all experienced transient pain,which was not persistent and did not discourage them from pursuing additional treatment.Conclusion The clinical outcomes and safety profile of invasive fractional microneedle radiofrequency demonstrate favorable results for patients with melasma of Fitzpatrick skin types Ⅲ to Ⅴ.
