Abstract

Through tensile testing and microstructure observation,the performance and microstructure analysis of large high-strength and heat-resistant magnesium alloy components with Mg-13Gd-4Y-2Zn-0.5Zr alloy composition were carried out.The results showed that the heat treatment process had a significant impact on improving its performance and microstructure.The optimal process parameter combination was determined among various heat treatment processes:430℃×8h+225℃×16h.Under these process conditions,dynamic recrystallization occurred inside the alloy,resulting in significant grain refinement and greatly improving its tensile strength.As the aging increases,the number of gray LPSO phases gradually increases,further enhancing the mechanical properties of the alloy;The axial tensile strength of the alloy is 332MPa,and the elongation is 11.5%;The circumferential tensile strength is 375MPa and the elongation is 12.3,which fully demonstrates the excellent mechanical properties and good heat resistance of magnesium alloy in high-temperature environments.
