Effect of comprehensive nutritional support based on nutritional assessment on immune function,nutritional status and quality of life in patients with HCC after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of a nutritional assessment tool combined with comprehensive nutritional support on im-mune function,nutritional status and quality of life in patients with HCC after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization.Methods A total of 113 HCC patients treated in Tangdu Hospital,Air Force Medical University from September 2019 to September 2022 were se-lected as study participants,who were allocated to an observation group(n=52)with comprehensive nutrition support and a control group(n=61)without comprehensive nutrition support according to whether the patients have received nutritional assessment and comprehensive nutritional support.The differences in immune function,nutritional status,and quality of life between the two groups were observed.Results No significant difference was found in the levels of immune function,nutritional status,and quality of life be-tween the two groups before intervention(P＞0.05).Prealbumin(PAB),serum albumin(ALB),serum total protein(TP),body mass index(BMI),CD3+level,CD4+level,CD8+level,and quality of life-liver cancer(QOL-LC)score in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group,while aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and indirect bilirubin(IBIL)levels were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nutritional support intervention based on nutritional assessment results can effectively promote the recovery of immune function,nutri-tional status,and quality of life of HCC patients after TACE,and restore liver injury to a certain extent.关键词
