Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)nursing on medical adherence and blood glucose control in elderly diabetic patients. Methods A total of 80 elderly diabetic patients admitted to our hospital from January to December 2022 were randomly allocated to an observation group and a control group, with 40 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the observation group received TCM nursing intervention. The blood glucose control,self-manage-ment ability, quality of life, and medical adherence of the two groups were compared before and after intervention. Results Before in-tervention,no significant differences were observed in fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, and glycated hemoglo-bin levels between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the levels of fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glu-cose,and glycated hemoglobin in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before in-tervention,no significant differences were found in the self-management ability scores and 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the self-management ability scores and SF-36 scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The proportions of adherence to proper exercise, regular medication, blood glucose control, and diet control in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion TCM nursing intervention for elderly diabetic patients is conducive to enhancing medical adherence,promo-ting blood glucose control, and increasing the quality of life and self-management ability, holding promise for a wider clinical applica-tion.关键词
