Relationship between intellectual development screening and sleep patterns in children aged 6-36 months
摘要
Abstract
Objective To understand the intellectual development and sleep patterns of children and explore the factors influencing intel-lectual developmental delay. Methods A total of 464 children aged 6 to 36 months who underwent routine health examinations in the Department of Child Healthcare at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from June to August 2023 were screened for intellectual development using the Developmental Screening Test(DST)for children aged 0 to 6 years. The Developmental Quo-tient(DQ)results were collected, and the intellectual development status and influencing factors were analyzed. Results Among the 464 children,273(58.8%)were classified as normal,133(28.7%)as suspicious, and 58(12.5%)as abnormal.Statistically signifi-cant differences were iobserved in DQ classification among children of different ages(P<0.05).Statistically significant differences were also observed in DQ classification among children with different numbers of night awakenings, awake time, feeding times, and abnormal sleep patterns(P<0.05).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, number of night awaken-ings,feeding times, and abnormal sleep patterns were influencing factors of DQ values. Conclusion Poor sleep habits may cause intel-lectual developmental delay in children.Early DST screening can identify children with deviations in intellectual development. It is rec-ommended to actively improve sleep problems, adjust sleep habits, and promote comprehensive intellectual development in children.关键词
