Abstract
Objective To compare the efficacy of ear molding devices in the treatment of different types of auricular deformities.Meth-ods A total of 100 children with auricular deformities admitted to our hospital from August 2021 to August 2022 were selected as the study participants.They were allocated to two groups based on the initial age of correction:≤2 months group(n=60)and>2 months group(n=40),both receiving treatment with an ear molding device.A 3-month follow-up was conducted after treatment,and the clinical efficacy was evaluated based on the auricular morphology of the children.The duration of correction and the occurrence of complications were recorded.Results The duration of correction in the ≤2 months group was longer than that in the>2 months group,and the clinical efficacy was higher while the incidence of complications was lower in the ≤2 months group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The clinical response rates of ear molding devices in the treatment of cup ear,lop ear,Stahl's ear,cryptotia,lop-ear,and auricular helix deformity were 82.35%,80.95%,81.25%,91.67%,89.48%,and 93.33%,respectively,with higher overall clinical response in lop-ear,cryptotia,and auricular helix deformity.Conclusion Ear molding device has better ef-ficacy in the treatment of auricular deformities in children,especially in those older than 2 months,and the earlier the treatment is re-ceived,the shorter the duration of correction and the lower the incidence of complications.Among them,the therapeutic efficacy is particularly excellent in auricular helix deformity,lop-ear,and cryptotia.关键词
