Abstract
Objective To investigate the significance of soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1(sTREM-1)and high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)in the early diagnosis and dynamic monitoring of severe Mycoplasma pneumonia(MMP)in children.Methods Seventy-five children with Mycoplasma pneumonia treated at our hospital from March 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the study participants.According to the diagnostic criteria for severe community-acquired pneumonia(CAP),they were assigned to the severe MMP group(n=19)and the MMP group(n=56).The serum levels of sTREM-1 and HMGB1 within one week of hospi-talization were compared between the two groups.The significance of these markers in early diagnosis and dynamic monitoring of se-vere Mycoplasma pneumonia in children was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.Results The serum levels of sTREM-1 and HMGB1 in both groups showed a decreasing trend from day 1 to day 7.The levels of sTREM-1 and HMGB1 in the severe MMP group were significantly higher than those in the control group on days 1,3,and 7(P＜0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the optimal cutoff values for sTREM-1(49.33 pg/mL)and HMGB1(7.25 ng/mL)achieved the largest area under the ROC curve.The combined detection of the two markers had significantly higher sensitivity(84.2％)and specificity(89.3％)than sin-gle-marker detection(P＜0.05).Conclusion The expression levels of sTREM-1 and HMGB1 indicate the disease progression in chil-dren with severe MMP.Combined monitoring of these markers has significant clinical value for early diagnosis and prognosis of severe MMP in children.关键词
