Abstract
Objective:To explore the clinical effect of ornidazole combined with modified vacuum sealing drainage(VSD)in the treatment of oral and maxillofacial space infection(OMSI)in patients and its influence on serum white blood cell count(WBC)and neutrophil count(NEUT).Methods:The clinical data of 40 patients with OMSI who were treated with ornidazole combined with traditional incision and drainage in the hospital from January 2020 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed and the patients were included in control group.The clinical data of 40 patients with OMSI who received ornidazole combined with modified VSD during the same period were retrospectively collected and the patients were enrolled as observa-tion group.The clinical efficacy(wound healing time,granulation growth time,hospital stay),and symptoms[abscess diame-ter,pain(Wong-Baker facial expression scale),mouth opening degree]and serum factors[WBC,NEUT,procalcitonin(PCT)]before surgery and at 1 week after surgery were compared between the two groups of patients.The complications(infection,septicemia,mediastinitis,heart failure)in the two groups were recorded within 1 week.Results:The hospital stay,wound heal-ing time and granulation growth time in observation group were shorter than those in control group(all P<0.05).At 1 week after surgery,the abscess diameter,Wong-Baker score,WBC,NEUT and PCT in the two groups were reduced compared with those before surgery,and the above indicators in observation group were lower than those in control group,but the degree of mouth opening was increased compared with that before surgery,and the mouth opening degree was greater in observation group than that in control group(all P<0.05).Within 1 week after surgery,the incidence rates of complications in observa-tion group were lower compared to control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ornidazole combined with modified VSD is effective in the treatment of OMSI,and it can improve the clinical symptoms,relieve the inflammatory response and reduce the inci-dence rates of complications.关键词
