Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect of Levetiracetam combined with Oxcarbazepine in the treatment of children with focal epilepsy(EP).Methods A total of 80 children with focal EP admitted to the Department of Pediatrics,Maternal and Child Health Care of Zaozhuang from May 2020 to January 2023 were selected as the study objects.All the children were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Oxcarbazepine,and the observation group was treated with Levetiracetam on the basis of the control group.The clinical efficacy,cognitive function,electroencephalogram EP-like discharge control,and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total clinical effective rate in the observation group(95.00%)was higher than that in the control group(75.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of language intelligence quotient([120.22±10.31]points),operation intelligence quotient([114.51±10.43]points),and overall intelligence quotient([121.24±10.16]points)in the Wechsler intelligence scale for children revised in China of the observation group were higher than(104.62±9.87),(102.48±9.25),and(110.35±9.64)points of the control group,respectively,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of electroencephalogram EP-like discharge control in the observation group(97.50%)was higher than that in the control group(80.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of Levetiracetam combined with Oxcarbazepine in the treatment of children with focal EP is significant,which can effectively improve cognitive function and electroencephalogram EP-like discharge control,and do not increase adverse reactions.关键词
