Analysis on Mapping's Graphical Techniques:A Comparison of James Conner's and Ian McHarg's Maps
摘要
Abstract
The rapidly evolving changes in contemporary urban space require architects to employ new methods of diagramming as a tool of expression.The paper takes the presentation of diagramming in landscape architecture as an entry point,and selects the classic atlases and cases of James Conner and Ian McHarg,two representative figures of the landscape urbanism,for analysis and comparison,so as to classify and summarize the graphical techniques used by both,and to distinguish their different mapping tendencies.The analysis results divide the graphical techniques used therein into two broad categories:combined techniques and thinking techniques,which are then divided down into a total of six basic categories of mapping techniques.It attempts to sort out and supplement the diagramming thinking of the architects in the planning of landscape.关键词
