Investigation of SDC/YSZ/GDC composite electrolyte film fuel cells

Abstract
The electron barrier layer of yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ)and the chemical barrier layer of gadolinium-doped cerium oxide(GDC)on the main electrolyte layer of samarium-doped ceria(SDC)were deposited by RF magnetron sputtering.The SDC/YSZ/GDC composite electrolyte film and fuel cells were prepared.The phase structure analysis,microstructure characterization and elec-trochemical performance evaluation were carried out.The results show that the composite electrolyte film effectively improves the open circuit potential(OCV)and maximum output power density of the cells due to the higher ionic conductivity and electronic resistance of the composite electrolyte film.关键词
