摘要

Abstract

Objective To explore the cellular and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)-related mol-ecule expression changes as well as tumor-enhancing effects in oral squamous cell carcinoma cells(SCC-25)after Pg infection.Methods The abilities of cell proliferation,migration,invasion as well as subcutaneous tumor growth were evaluated after Pg infection of oral SCC-25 in the absence or presence of metronidazole.Immunohistochemistry and Western-blot were utilized to detect the protein levels of EMT-re-lated molecules.Results Pg infection promoted the proliferation,migration,and invasion as well as sub-cutaneous xenografted tumor growth of SCC-25 cells.Moreover,Pg also induced downregulation of E-cad-herin protein and upregulation of N-cadherin protein and Vimentin protein.Metronidazole treatment reversed the increased abilities of cell proliferation,migration,invasion,and protein expression of EMT-related mol-ecules induced by Pg infection.Conclusion Pg induces EMT and enhances the malignant progression in oral squamous cell carcinoma
