Study on HPV vaccine choice preference among parents of middle school female students in Urumqi:based on a discrete selection model

Abstract
Objective To understand parents'preferences and willingness to pay for human papilloma virus(HPV)vaccine for female students of secondary school,so as to provide a decision-making basis for policymakers and vaccine authorities.Methods A combination of simple random sampling and convenience sampling was used to conduct a discrete selection experimental questionnaire survey of 200 parients of secondary female students in Urumqi city in June 2022.The questionnaire was developed using a discrete choice experiment,and a mixed Logit regression model was used to analyze student parental HPV vaccine selection preferences.Results The self-paid cost,cervical cancer protection rate and side reaction all significantly affected the HPV vaccine choice preference(P<0.05).Overall,the parents of urban and rural students preferred the same HPV vaccine choice,and both valued the cervical cancer protection rate of the vaccine the most,followed by vaccine side effects.Conclusion Relevant institutions should actively explore HPV vaccination plans in terms of self funded expenses,cervical cancer protection rate,and side effects based on the preferences of HPV vaccines.At the same time,health education for middle school girls should be strengthened so as to improve the HPV vaccination rate.关键词
