Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Industry and Enhancing Enterprise Value:Core Mechanism,Mode Selection and Promotion Path

数字化转型深刻地影响着制造企业的价值获取和价值创造,如何优化数字化转型前因提升制造企业价值是亟需回答的重要问题.基于432家上市制造企业数据,运用扎根理论和fsQCA方法对制造业企业数字化转型促进企业价值提升的前因、机制和路径进行分析和检验,并依据行业特征划分劳动、技术和资本密集型三类制造企业,针对其数字化转型的价值提升路径进行探讨.研究发现:(1)多案例扎根分析识别出制造企业数字化转型战略布局、经营管理、市场竞合、创新升级、研发投入和企业建设六大特征变量,组态结果发现单一数字化转型特征变量不构成制造企业价值提升的必要条件.(2)在制造企业数字化转型中,存在一类全局赋能型促成高企业价值提升的构型,以及创新薄弱型、布局薄弱型和研发薄弱型三类导致非高企业价值提升的构型,且结论通过稳健性检验.(3)劳动密集型、资本密集型和技术密集型制造企业的价值提升驱动路径存在明显组态差异,战略布局数字化能力是三类制造企业实现价值提升的共性核心要素.本文研究不仅为制造企业数字化转型与企业价值提升的前因和协同路径研究提供了新的思路,也为企业数字化转型的政策设计提供了充分的学理支撑.

Digital transformation has a profound impact on the value acquisition and creation of manufacturing enterprises.How to optimize the value of manufacturing enterprises before digital transformation is an important question that needs to be answered urgently.Based on 432 listed manufacturing enterprise data,this study uses root theory and fsQCA method to analyze and test the antecedents,mechanisms,and paths of digital transformation in manufacturing enterprises to promote enterprise value enhancement.Based on industry characteristics,this study divides labor,technology and capital intensive manufacturing enterprises into three categories,and explore the value enhancement path of their digital transformation.The research results are as below.Firstly,multiple case root analysis identified six characteristic variables of digital transformation strategy layout,business management,market competition and cooperation,innovation and upgrading,R&D investment and enterprise construction.Configuration results found that a single digital transformation characteristic variable does not constitute the necessary condition for the value enhancement of manufacturing enterprises.Secondly,in the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises,there is a kind of global enabling configuration that contributes to high enterprise value enhancement,as well as three types of configurations that lead to non high enterprise value enhancement:weak innovation,weak layout,and weak R&D,and the conclusions pass robustness tests.Thirdly,there are obvious configuration differences in the value enhancement driving path of labor-intensive,capital-intensive and technology-intensive manufacturing enterprises.Strategic layout of digital capability is the common core element for the three types of manufacturing enterprises to achieve value enhancement.This paper not only provides a new idea for the research on the precursor and synergistic path of manufacturing enterprise digital transformation and enterprise value enhancement,but also provides sufficient theoretical support for the policy design of enterprise digital transformation.
