Research Progress on Advanced Glycation End Products in Aging-related Diseases
摘要
Abstract
Aging is an inherent physiological phenomenon that occurs throughout human life.Numerous theories have been proposed to elucidate the distinctive features of aging,encompassing oxidative stress,imbalances in protein homeostasis,deterioration of gene stability,mitochondrial dysfunction,and disorders in nutritional metabolism.The role of advanced glycation end products(AGEs)in the aging process is widely acknowledged.This paper aims to examine the potential mechanisms through which AGEs con-tribute to aging,and elucidate the association between AGEs and age-related ailments including cardiovascular diseases,chronic com-plications of diabetes,cataracts,Alzheimer's disease,osteoporosis,and sarcopenia.The objective is to present novel perspectives for anti-aging research,pharmaceutical interventions in age-related diseases,and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the elderly.关键词
