Effect of cabergoline combined endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary tumors resection on PRL,HGH and ACTh levels in the elderly pituitary adenomas

Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of the combination of cabergoline and endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary tumors resection in elderly patients with pituitary tumors,and its impacts on prolactin(PRL),adrenocorticotropin(ACTh),and human growth hormone(HGH).Methods From May 2020 to May 2023,82 elderly patients with pituitary tumors admitted to Yuncheng Central Hospital were randomly separated into the control group of 41 cases and the study group of 41 cases.The control group received endonasal transsphenoidal approach surgery,while the study group received additional treatment with cabergoline on this basis.The total effective rate,hormone levels,inflammatory factor indicators,quality of life scores,and treatment safety of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of the study group(92.68%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(75.61%,P<0.05).The levels of PRL,ACTH and HGH in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),inflammatory factors in both groups were decreased after treatment,and the levels of matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2),Xklp2 target protein(TPX2)and P53 protein in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the quality of life in both groups was significantly improved,and the score of SF-36 in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no obvious difference in safety between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The classic neuroendoscopic surgery combined with cabergoline for elderly patients with pituitary tumors can effectively improve their quality of life,reduce inflammatory reactions,and achieve ideal results.The clinical application value is high.关键词
