Effects of childhood trauma on the formation of borderline personality disorder symptom in graduate students:The chain mediating role of coping styles and psychological resilience

Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between childhood trauma and postgraduates'borderline person-ality disorder symptom,and the chain mediating role of coping styles and psychological resilience.Methods:A sample of 1368 postgraduates were recruited in the study to complete the questionnaires about childhood trauma,coping styles,psychological resilience,personality disorder symptom.Results:①Correlation analysis showed that childhood trauma was significantly positive correlated with borderline personality disorder symptom(r=0.18,P＜0.01),and significantly negativecorrelated with coping styles(r=-0.32,P＜0.01)and psychological resilience(r=-0.45,P＜0.01);Coping styles was significantly positive correlated with psychological resilience(r=0.43,P＜0.01)and signifi-cantly negative correlated with borderline personality disorder symptom(r=-0.24,P＜0.01);Psychological resilience was significantly negative correlated with borderline personality disorder symptom(r=-0.24,P＜0.01).② Chain in-termediately effect analysis showed that childhood trauma indirectly influenced borderline personality disorder symp-tom by three pathways:Mediating role of coping styles,mediating role of psychological resilience,chain mediating role of coping styles and psychological resilience,the intermediary effect accounted for 46.67％,22.22％,6.67％of the total effect.Conclusion:The influence of childhood trauma on borderline personality disorder symptom is indirect.Childhood trauma can exacerbate postgraduates'borderline personality disorder symptom by impairing their coping styles and psychological resilience.关键词
