Abstract
Objective To understand the current status and influencing factors of nurses'caring behavior in geriatric wards of level A tertiary hospital in Hubei Province.Methods The Chinese version of the Nursing Care Behavior Evaluation Scale was used to survey 580 nurses and 620 elderly hospitalized patients in 12 level A tertiary hospitals in Hubei Province by means of self-evaluation by nurses and patients.Results The total scores of nurses and patients'evaluation of humanistic care behavior were high.The results of multi-factor analysis showed the understanding level on the definition of human care,the time of communication with patients,the related system of hospital care for humanities,the concern of family and colleagues were the main factors for the total score of care behavior from nurses.Self-care ability and the degree of pain of patients were the main factors affecting the score of patients'evaluation of nurse care behavior.Conclusion There is still a big difference in the care and demand of caring behavior be-tween nurses and patients in the geriatric wards.The hospital should improve the caring behavior of the nurses in the elderly wards from the perspective of patients and nurses to meet the needs of more and more elderly hospitalized patients.关键词
