Effect of 0.05D spherical interval defocus lenses combined with defocus incorporated multiple segments on delaying myopia progression in children and adolescents

Abstract
Objective To compare the effects of 0.05D spherical interval defocus lenses,0.25D spherical interval defocus lens and 0.25D spherical interval single vision lens in myopia prevention and control.Methods Retrospective study.Children aged 7~13 who were diagnosed with myopia and fitted with glasses from January 2023 to August 2023 were selected and divided into 0.05D defocus group,0.25D defocus group and 0.25D single vision group according to the different glasses worn by the patients.The changes in spherical equivalent power and axial length of children in the three groups after wearing glasses for 6 months were compared.Results A total of 85 children were included in this study.Among them,there were 28 cases in the 0.05D defocus group,26 cases in the 0.25D defocus group,and 31 cases in the 0.25D single vision group.After wearing glasses for 6 months,the diopter increases of the 0.05D defocus group,0.25D defocus group,and 0.25D single vision group were 0.10±0.06D,0.35±0.24D,and 0.67±0.28D respectively,and the axial length increases were 0.09±0.07mm,0.16±0.08mm,0.33±0.21mm respectively.Both the 0.05D defocus group and the 0.25 D defocus group were significantly different from the 0.25 D single vision group in terms of diopter and axial length growth(P<0.001).There was a statistical difference in the diopter increase between the 0.05D defocus group and the 0.25D defocus group(P<0.001),and there was a statistical difference in the axial length increase(P=0.048).Conclusion In the short term,both 0.05D defocus lenses and 0.25D defocus lenses can control myopia.The 0.05D interval defocus lens may have a better myopia control effect and is more convenient for follow-up of diopter growth.关键词
