Observation on the relationship between ocular biometric parameters and refractive status in children with intermit-tent exotropia

摘要

Abstract

Objective Observing whether intermittent exotropia affects children's ocular biometric values and refractive status by comparing them with those without exotropia.Methods According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,726 children aged 3~12were included in the control group,and 173 in the exotropia group.All the right eyes'data of participants were recorded,including axial length(AL),the radius of corneal curvature(CR)and cycloplegic retinos-copy.Counted the ratio of axial length/corneal(Al/CR)and spherical equivalent(SE).Statistics were analyzed.Result There were no statistics differences between control group and exotropia group,as well as groups with different degrees of strabismus.As the control group,the relationship between AL/CR with SE was tough also in the exotropia group,AL next.The ability of AL recognize myopia was slightly larger than AL/CR in exotropia group(0.952 vs 0.947),while the rests AL/CR were all better than AL(0.941 vs 0.922、0.963 vs 0.924、0.972 vs 0.941).The cutoff value of AL/CR to recognize myopia and hyperopia was 3.03,2.97 in the exotropia group,while in control group was 3.01,2.95.Conclusion Intermittent exotropia does not affect the ocular biometric measurements and refractive status of children,nor does it affect the relationship between the ocular biometric measurements and refractive status of children.
