Abstract

A series of g-C3N4/CeO2 complex photocatalysts were synthesized by a two-step calcination method,and the composite photocatalysts exhibited the best photocatalytic activity when the mass fraction of Ce was 0.5%(0.5Ce-CN),and their degradation of p-chlorophenol,bisphenol A,oxytetracycline hydrochloride,ciprofloxacin,and rhodamine B was improved by 49%,50%,41%,25%,and 52%,respectively,compared with g-C3N4.The physicochemical properties of the g-C3N4/CeO2 complex photocatalysts were investigated using characterization tools such as X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-Vis DRS).It was evident from the photoluminescence(PL)results that the proper arrangement of the energy bands between the g-C3N4 and CeO2 components significantly improved the charge separation and transfer,and the specific surface area,pore volume and photocurrent of 0.5Ce-CN were 14.5,9.7 and 5.7 times higher than those of g-C3N4,respectively.Meanwhile,0.5Ce-CN also demonstrated excellent photocatalytic stability,which has good application prospects.This study showed the efficient degradation of different pollutants with a very small amount of CeO2 composite g-C3N4,which reduced the cost and provided ideas for the preparation of high-performance g-C3N4-based composite photocatalysts.
