On Ecopolitics of Ecological Marxism

Abstract
The ecopolitics of ecological Marxism represents a critique and reconsideration of Western ecological thought.Based on historical materialism's views on humanity and nature,it examines the roots and solutions to ecological crises,and explores outcomes suitable for the path of socialist revolution in western societies.Western ecological thought takes the approach of ecological values,and either breaks away from capitalist globalization and follows an eco-political strategy rooted ecological values and local ecological self-governance;or believes in the potential of the capitalist system to address ecological crises,proposing strategies that encompass technological advancement,economic growth,and the implementation of stringent environmental regulations.Ecological Marxism,in contrast,insists on starting with the social system and production mode,explicitly stating the proposition that"the capitalist system is inherently anti-ecological."Ecological Marxism argues that to genuinely resolve ecological crises,ecological movements should be integrated with organized labor movements,and directing these ecological movements towards radical class movements.It advocates for"decentralization"and"debureaucratization"to reform the highly centralized capitalist production and management systems,and to establish an eco-socialist society.Ecological Marxism's political ecology is an intrinsic component of the Western socialist movement,representing a Non-Western-centric ecology that is dedicated to fulfilling the basic needs of the masses,especially the impoverished.关键词
