Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine on emergence agitation in elderly patients undergoing fracture surgery under sevoflurane anesthesia.Methods:Fifty-six elderly patients with fractures surgery admitted to the General Hospital of Nanpiao Mining District,Huludao City,Liaoning Province,from January 2019 to April 2021 were selected as the research objects.The patients were randomly divided into a control group and an ex perimental group,with 28 cases in each group.The control group underwent conventional surgical procedures,while the experimental group received dexmedetomidine intravenous pump treatment 10 min before the end of surgery.The agitation scores and pain Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores,clinical efficacy,and total incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Results:After surgery,the agitation scores in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group,while the VAS scores were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P＜0.05).The total effective rate of clinical treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The total incidence of complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Dexmedetomidine administration in elderly patients undergoing fracture surgery under sevoflurane anesthesia has a good effect,effectively reducing the degree of emergence agitation and pain during the emergence period,improving treatment outcomes,and reducing the risk of complications.关键词
