Minimum clearance from highway tunnel exits to interchange entrances
摘要
Abstract
If the clearance from the exit of a highway tunnel to the entrance of an interchange is too small,it can easily lead to mistakes in judgment and decision-making by drivers when merging,increasing the probability of accidents in the merging area.To address this issue,we conduct the study of the minimum clearance from tunnel exits to interchange entrances on highways.Based on an in-depth analysis of the driving characteristics and traffic conflicts between tunnel exits and interchange entrances,we analyze the main driving processes of vehicles in short clearance sections(including bright adaptation,judgment and decision-making,vehicle deceleration and lane changing),and then establish the calculation model for the minimum clearance between tunnel exits and interchange entrances.Through the investigation and analysis of the measured traffic data from this kind of road sections,key parameters in the small clearance calculation model,such as the running speed near tunnel exits and the explicit adaptation time at the tunnel exit,are calibrated.Finally,by comprehensively considering vehicle running speed,driver′s adaptation time,vehicle deceleration characteristics,lane change trajectories and the safe sight distance of the main line in the merging area of interchange entrances,the recommendations for the minimum clear distance from tunnel exits to interchange entrances based on road section speed limits are made.Additionally,a series of traffic safety measures based on the lane driving safety guidance and control system are proposed,including lane restrictions,vehicle speed control,reducing visual load,and strengthening line of sight guidance.关键词
