Risks of diagnostic errors and clinical methodologies in laboratory assessment of allergic disorders
摘要
Abstract
The incidence of allergic diseases has been escalating annually,yet advancements in diag-nostic methodologies have remained stagnant.Allergic reactions involve intricate interactions among various im-mune cells and molecular entities.The inability to pinpoint specific allergens does not preclude the diagnosis of allergic conditions,nor does the identification of specific allergens invariably lead to allergic manifesta-tions.Allergen challenge tests are regarded as the"gold standard"for diagnosis,whereas allergen-specific IgE(sIgE)assays are utilized to evaluate sensitization status rather than to directly diagnose allergic disorders.Component-resolved diagnostic techniques employ specific native allergen proteins or recombinant al-lergen components to identify principal allergens,with due consideration given to small-molecule allergens.During the diagnostic process,clinicians must integrate the patient's clinical presentation,medical history,and comprehensive test results to arrive at a definitive diagnosis.关键词
