摘要

Abstract

Based on an improved multi-section cavity,a 395GHz terahertz gyrotron is optimal de-signed.The gyrotron is used as high-power terahertz radiation source in dynamic nuclear polarization and other related fields.To reduce the requirement of magnetic field,the gyrotron operates in the second har-monic mode.At an operating voltage of 12kV,a current of 0.5A,and a magnetic field of 7.2T,a high-power THz output of 1kW is achieved at 395.1 GHz.By changing the operating magnetic field and the op-erating voltage,the frequency tuning of the gyrotron is achieved.When the operating voltage remains at 12kV and the operating magnetic field varies from 7.19T to 7.21T,the operating frequency changes from 395.09GHz to 395.2GHz,the frequency tuning range is 110MHz,and the output power varies from 20W to 1kW.When the operating magnetic field remains at 7.2T and the operating voltage varies from 10kV to 12.6kV,the operating frequency changes from 395.09GHz to 395.2GHz,the frequency tuning range is 120MHz,and the output varies from 15W to 1kW.
