Abstract

Taking Nanning City as an example, this paper established a lightning disaster risk zoning indicator system based on the methods of meteorological disaster risk assessment and zoning. It used meteorological, geographical, demographic, and economic data of Nanning City, and selected data statistics, survey questionnaires, analytic hierarchy process and weighted comprehensive evaluation methods to determine the weight and evaluation indicators of lightning disaster risk. ArcGIS technology was used for grid calculation and layer stacking, then the lightning disaster risk zoning map of Nanning City was obtained. The results indicated that the areas with the highest risk of lightning disasters within Nanning City were Qingxiu District, Yongning District, Xingning District, Liangqing District, as well as Binyang County, Hengzhou City, Shanglin County and Mashan County. The area with the highest risk to medium risk was the largest in the entire Nanning City, reflecting the generally high risk of lightning disasters within Nanning City.
