Abstract

Efficient CO2 adsorbents are urgently needed due to the increasing concentration of CO2 in the at-mosphere.Waste biomass lotus stem fibers were taken as raw materials,nitrogen-doped porous carbon samples with well-developed pore structures were prepared by a two-step carbonization method.The synthesis process in-cluded the carbonization of lotus stem fibers,KOH activation of derived lotus stem fibers porous carbon and modi-fication with chitosan.Chitosan modification was used to improve the surface alkalinity and introduction of N to the porous carbon,and increase the CO2 adsorption properties.The results showed that when the nitrogen-doped porous carbon reached a specific surface area of 1550 m2/g,the adsorption amounts were as high as 4.59 and 6.31 mmol/g at 20℃ and 0℃ and 1 bar respectively,exhibiting excellent CO2 adsorption properties and cycling properties.And the porous carbon prepared by this method had a promising future in CO2 adsorption.
