Progress in multimodal MRI research on acupuncture at Siguan point for the treatment of mild cognitive impairment
摘要
Abstract
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is the early stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD), characterized by decreased learning and memory abilities, with no impact on daily life. Acupuncture at Siguan point has a definite therapeutic effect on MCI and is widely used in clinical practice; acupuncture can improve cognitive function, but the principle of action is complex. Multimodal MRI provides visual support for the study of brain effects and efficacy assessment of acupuncture at the Siguan point in the treatment of MCI due to its advantages of precise localization and real-time observation of abnormal brain regions. In this article, structural MRI (sMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), and arterial spin labeling (ASL) were introduced to review the literature on cerebral structure, function, metabolism and blood perfusion of MCI treated by acupuncture at Siguan point. The intracerebral changes of MCI were discussed from multiple perspectives and the mechanism of acupuncture treatment was analyzed, it provides new ideas for the follow-up research of MCI.关键词
