Acupuncture has advantages in treatment of functional dyspepsia mainly by improving gastrointestinal dyskinesia,regulating gastric electrical rhythms,modulating visceral sensitivity,regulating the gut-brain axis and related hormones of brain-gut peptide,de-creasing the release of inflammatory factors,regulating duodenal eosinophils,as well as improving the anxiety and depression to improve the clinical symptoms with good efficacy.However,the TCM syndrome,selection of acupuncture points,treatment methods and prescrip-tions for functional dyspepsia treated with acupuncture have not been unified.In addition,the influence of acupuncture and TCM pre-scriptions on the intestinal environment has not been clear.In the future,it is urgent to further improve the syndrome differentiation and efficacy evaluation criteria of the disease combined with the basic theory of TCM and modern research techniques,to provide a more sci-entific basis for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of functional dyspepsia.
