摘要

Abstract

Iron tailings are the largest tailings in China,and their long-term large-scale discharge has caused serious environmental pollution and safety hazards.It is urgent to improve their resource utilization level.Ceramsite is a new type of artificial lightweight aggregate,which is widely used in architecture,garden,chemical industry and other fields because of its excellent properties such as light weight,high strength,thermal insulation,frost resistance and durabili-ty.According to the distribution and basic properties of iron tailings,this paper analyzes the feasibility of using iron tailings instead of natural raw materials to produce ceramsite,in order to enhance the utilization value of iron tailings.The paper discusses in detail the two production processes of sintering expansion and non-sintering for preparing ceramsite from iron tailings,and emphatically expounds the measures adopted for improving the cohesion,light weight and high strength,heat preservation and insulation of ceramsite from iron tailings.The problems to be solved in future research and important development directions are proposed.
