摘要

Abstract

Anaerobic ammonium oxidation(Anammox)is considered as the most promising nitrogen removal technology due to its high efficiency and low energy consumption.However,the application of Anammox process in mainstream wastewater treatment still faces challenges due to the drawback of anaerobic ammonia oxidation bacteria(AnAOB),such as long doubling time,environmental sensitivity,lack of electron receptors,poor retention of biomass.Recently,biochar as a novel and environmentally friendly carrier with low cost,high specific surface area,abundant functional groups,has attracted more and more attention for promoting Anammox process.On the basis of the effect of preparation methods on biochar characteristic,this review summarizes the role of biochar as a biological carrier in Anammox process.Meanwhile,this review attempts to analyze the effect of biochar on shorting start-up time,improving nitrogen removal performance and alleviating contaminants inhibition in Anammox process.Collectively,this review provides reference for the large-scale application of biochar in Anammox nitrogen removal process.
