Abstract

By comparing the quality of fermented cigar leaves of 8 varieties introduced for trial planting in Hanzhong,Shaanxi Province,we initially screened out excellent cigar tobacco varieties suitable for planting in Hanzhong City,Shaanxi Province.The eight varieties of tobacco were used to conduct stacking fermentation test,and the sensory quality,chemical composition,physical properties and neutral aroma-causing substances of the fermented cigar leaves of the eight test varieties were comprehensively determined and analyzed.The results showed that there were significant differences in the quality of fermented cigar tobacco leaves among the eight varieties.QX103 and Haiyan 103 ranked high in the sensory evaluation score because of their delicate smoke,sweetness and clean aftertaste,and QX103,Haiyan 101 and Haiyan 103 ranked high in the regular chemical composition score because of the relative harmony of the chemical composition.Chuanxue No.3,QX103 and Haiyan 204 had higher scores in physical characteristics because these three varieties of cigar tobacco leaves have heavier single leaf weight and thicker leaves.Chuanxue No.3,QX206 and QX204 had higher scores for neutral aroma-inducing substances because these three varieties of cigar tobacco have more neutral aroma-inducing substances and higher contents.In conclusion,QX103,QX206,Haiyan 101 and Haiyan 103 have better overall quality performance.In addition,Haiyan 101 can be planted as cigar core,and QX103,QX206 and Haiyan 103 can be planted as cigar coat,while QX201,QX204,Haiyan 204 and Chuanxue No.3 have poorer overall quality.
