Abstract

An asymmetric Ⅴ-shaped steel structure forms due to the intersection of a tall column and a pil-lar both inclined at the bottom of the main tower of a special-shaped cable-stayed bridge,and the axis of the steel member is seriously deviated from the vertical line of the top surface of the lower concrete base.These bring difficulties to the structural design of the steel-concrete joint.Objectives In order to determine the many parameters of the adopted structural scheme,alleviate the steep change in stiffness from the py-lon column to the base,and reduce the maximum stresses of each component of the joint.Methods Based on the refined nonlinear finite element simulation,the stresses of each component under a variety of typical loading cases were analyzed,compared,and checked by changing the parameter values.The interfacial stresses between the bearing plate and the concrete base were studied for the influence of the parameter of the anchor rods setting.Results The results show that there are two most critical loading cases,which are the extreme loading case of tensioning cables 1 to 4 and the maximum sum of the absolute values of in-plane and out-of-plane bending moments.The main tensile stresses of the concrete base often play a control-ling role,and the stresses of the tower root were close to the standard limits.Thickening the bearing plate and improving the strength of concrete are beneficial to controlling the stresses of the anchor box steel plate and base concrete.However,considering the cost,moderation is key.In the original scheme,the trans-verse and vertical steel plates in the middle of the anchor box had little effect.A reasonable arrangement of anchor rods is far more important than quantity,and prestress applied on the tensile side under the action of bending moment can play a beneficial role.Conclusions The final optimization scheme greatly reduces the number of anchor box steel plates and anchor rods,and the prestress distribution is more appropriate.The research results take into account safety,applicability,and economy,and have reference significance for related projects.
