Comparison of Statistical Caliber for Migrant and Floating Population in China
摘要
Abstract
The statistical caliber is the foundation for understanding China's recent population migration and mobility.Different statistical calibers correspond to various migrant and floating populations and sample structures.Based on the internal logic of"statistical caliber-total result",this paper firstly compares and discusses the three calibers from the perspective of census,in order to correctly understand the meaning and characteristics of each statistical calibers.Then,using the data from the fifth,sixth,and seventh national population censuses,we will re-estimate the proportion of the migrant and floating population under different statistical calibers,so as to truly understand the overall intensity of China's population migration and mobility as well as deepen our understanding of China's migrant and floating population.The article believes that as non-period indicators,the household registration and birthplace indexes have time cumulative effect,and the permanent residence indexes five years ago have mixed sample attributes and the underestimation problems of not including intra-county migrant and floating population.At present,there is still no suitable and accurate description of the scale and proportion of China's migrant and floating population.It is urgent to adjust the statistical caliber of the migrant and floating population,among which spatial scope,temporality,and China's social system background are the three standards for adjusting the statistical calibers.At the same time,the article suggests strengthening research on the trend of population migration and mobility in China under the condition of negative population growth.关键词
