Abstract

In order to evaluate the culture performance of"Pujiang No.1"blunt snout bream(Megalobrama amblycephala)bred through high-generation selection(F13),a comparative trial was conducted between this population and common blunt snout bream at the 2-year-old and 3-year-old stages.The results showed that the sur-vival rate of"Pujiang No.1"high-generation selected population and the common blunt snout bream at the 2-year-old and 3-year-old stages was above 98%.However,the feed coefficient of the"Pujiang No.1"variety(1.96,2.90)was significantly lower than the common population(2.17,3.34).At the 2-year-old stage,the body mass increment,absolute growth rate and relative growth rate of"Pujiang No.1"variety were significantly higher than those of common population(P<0.05).At the 3-year-old stage,the body mass increment and absolute growth rate of"Pujiang No.1"variety were also significantly higher than the common population,but there was no significant difference in relative growth rate(P>0.05).Furthermore,the aquaculture net profits and capital return on investment of the"Pujiang No.1"high-generation selected population were significantly higher than those of the common blunt snout bream.The results showed that the high-generation breeding population of"Pujiang No.1"still had good growth performance and high economic benefit.
