Effect of pentoxifylline combined with valsartan on diabetic nephropathy and its influence on renal function and vascular endothelial growth factor

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of pentoxifylline combined with valsartan in the treatment of diabetic ne-phropathy and its influence on renal function and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).Methods:204 patients with dia-betic nephropathy were divided into observation group and control group by the block randomization method,with 102 cases in each group.The control group was treated with valsartan,and the observation group was additionally given pentoxifylline on this basis.The clinical efficacy after 3 months of treatment and changes inSerum creatinine(SCr),creatinine clearance rate(CCr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),insulin-like growth factor 1(GF-1),transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1),VEGF and Diabetes Specific Quality of Life Scale(DSQL)before treatment and after 3 months of treatment were compared be-tween the two groups.The adverse drug reactions in the two groups during treatment were recorded.Results:After 3 months of treatment,the effective rate of treatment in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group(P＜0.05).The levels of SCr and CCr in both groups after 3 months of treatment were significantly increased,and the levels in observation group were higher compared with those in control group(all P＜0.05);the levels of BUN,IGF-1,TGF-β1 and VEGF and DSQL score in both groups were significantly decreased,and the levels and score in observa-tion group were lower than those in control group(all P＜0.05).There were no statistical differences in the inci-dence rates of adverse drug reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Pentoxifylline combined with valsartan has a significant efficacy in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy,and it can effectively improve the renal function and enhance the quality of life of patients.关键词
