Abstract

When local passenger demand reduces due to the epidemic or other specific events,the passenger flow scale between railway origin and destination(OD)changes accordingly.To adjust the train operation plan on the premise of ensuring the continuity of railway transportation and production is a challenge for railway operating enterprises.This study summarized the adjustment strategies for train operation plans in response to different scenarios of passenger transport demand reduction,including train shutdown,train formation adjustment,train operation section adjustment,adjustment of providing passenger services when the train stops,and related ticket sales adjustment.Based on this,an adjustment model of train operation plans was constructed to make comprehensive decisions on train shutdown,no providing passenger services when train stops,and train formation adjustment.Specifically,train shutdown considers the entire routing to achieve the practical applicability of the decision.The effectiveness of the model was demonstrated through numerical examples,and the results in actual cases show that by optimizing the capacity configuration of train operation plans,the adjusted plans can control operating costs and reduce losses caused by demand reduction based on supply and demand matching.
