Damage and Crack Fractal Characteristics of Modified Raw Soil Materials Mixed with Oil Sludge Under Dynamic Load

Abstract
In older to study the internal damage evolution process of modified raw soil materials under dynamic loads,six 100 mm × 100 mm × 100 mm raw soil specimens were made using green modified raw soil materials mixed with cement and oil sludge.The grayscale images and CT values of the cubic specimens under uniaxial compression were obtained using CT scanning technology.The morphologi-cal variation of the cracks and pores in the specimens with the increase of stress is analyzed,the relationship between CT number and material failure is studied,and the relationship between CT mean and stress is established.The threshold division of CT images is car-ried out using image processing techniques,the fractal dimension of the images was estimated using the box dimension method.Based on this,the relationships between stress and fractal dimension,material damage were obtained.The results indicate that the entire process of the specimens from stress to failure can clearly captured using CT technology,and CT images can demonstrate the damage evolution law of the material at a microscopic level.The CT value decreases with the increase of stress and significantly decreases with the expan-sion of the pores and cracks in the materials.Under low stress conditions,the fractal dimension grows slowly,while under high stress conditions,the fractal dimension grows rapidly,and the fluctuation of values increases with the increase of stress.The fractal dimension can quantitatively describe the damage state and evolution process of raw soil materials under dynamic loads.关键词
