Abstract

As an important component of forest community ecosystem,above-ground insects can accelerate litter decomposition and soil ecological processes.In order to understand the composition and diversity of insect communities on the ground and to explore the environmental factors affecting the spatial distribution pattern of insect communities in the Guandi Mountain forest region,the study was conducted in the poplar-birch forest,a typical broad-leaved forest ecosystem in the region,four habitats ranging from 1 600 to 2 200 m above altitude level were set up.Two systematic surveys of above-ground insects were carried out in Ju-ly-August 2022 by means of Babbitt pot traps,single factor analysis of variance(ANOVA)and redundancy analysis were used to determine the impact of environmental factors on insect diversity at different alti-tudes.The results showed that 1)a total of 2 449 insects were collected,belonging to 30 families and 64 species of 7 orders.Among them,Carabidae and Formicidae were the dominant species.2)The composition of above-ground insects of different altitudes was obviously different,and the number of individuals and species decreased with the elevation,the similarity coefficient of above-ground insects communities at dif-ferent altitudes showed that the species similarity between adjacent two altitudes was high.3)The Shan-non diversity index,Pielou evenness index and Margalef richness index were higher in the low altitude,but there was no significant difference in Pielou evenness index among different altitudes.4)Pearson correla-tion coefficient analysis showed that soil temperature,water and porosity were the main environmental fac-tors affecting insect species diversity.Further redundancy analysis showed that temperature was the most important factor affecting the distribution of insect communities on the ground.This study is an important supplement to the study on the ecosystem of the Guandi Mountain and provides a theoretical basis for the protection of above-ground insects.
