Abstract

To determine the saturation value of optical remote sensing estimation of the biomass in Pinus yunnanensis forest and improve the accuracy of biomass estimation,P.yunnanensis forest occurring in cen-tral Yunnan Province was taken as the research object.Based on the study of the saturation value of the op-tical remote sensing biomass of the P.yunnanensis forest,and the biomass spectral index regression mod-el,the mixed effect prediction model of the aboveground biomass of the P.yunnanensis forest was con-structed considering the regional effect,age group effect and nested two levels(region+age group),to eliminate the impact of the prediction error caused by the saturation phenomenon.The results showed that the biomass saturation values of NDVI,NLI and G spectral indexes were 216,151 and 205 t/hm2,respec-tively.The mixture model at each effect level was superior to the regression model in terms of fitting indi-cators and independence test.From the results of the"Jackknife resampling method"residual test,the mixed effect model reduced the estimated average residual of the regression model in both low biomass and high biomass segments.Comprehensive analysis shows that the mixed effect model eliminates the sensitivi-ty of saturation phenomenon to a certain extent,and can effectively improve the estimation accuracy of Yunnan pine stand biomass.
