28例猫高血压眼病的回顾性分析
Retrospective Analysis of 28 Cases of Feline Hypertensive Ocular Disease

Abstract
To investigate the clinical characteristics,treatment methods,and outcomes of feline hypertensive ocular disease,a retrospective analysis was conducted on 28 cases of feline hypertensive ocular disease treated at China Agriculture University Veterinary Teaching Hospital from January 2018 to December 2022.The study summarized the age of onset,breed,gender,ocular symptoms,initial blood pressure,comorbidities,treatment methods,post-treatment blood pressure,and ocular symptom outcomes of the affected cats.The results showed that 71.4％(20/28)of the included cats were domestic shorthair cats and domestic longhair cats,with an average age of diagnosis of 16 years.The diagnosis age of british shorthair cats and exotic shorthair cats was significantly younger than that of domestic shorthair cats and domestic longhair cats(P＜0.05).Male and female cats each accounted for 50.0％(14/28).At the initial visit,75.0％(21/28)of the cats were blind in both eyes.Abnormal findings on ophthalmic examination included retinal detachment(64.3％,18/28),retinal hemorrhage(57.1％,16/28),endophthalmitis(57.1％,16/28),vitreous extravasation(3.6％,1/28),and hyphema(3.6％,1/28).The average time from onset of blindness to diagnosis was 43 days(range:2-365 days).The average systolic blood pressure at the initial visit was 238 mmHg(range:186-300 mmHg).Investigation into the causes of systemic hypertension in the affected cats showed that 11.5％(3/26)were idiopathic hypertension,69.2％(18/26)were secondary to chronic kidney disease,15.4％(4/26)were secondary to hyperthyroidism,and 3.8％(1/26)were secondary to adrenal tumors.Eighteen cats were treated with oral amlodipine,and two cats were treated with oral methimazole.Fifteen cats underwent ophthalmic reexamination,five cats had retinal reattachment,among which three cats with bilateral and one cat with unilateral threatened responses recovered positively.The proportion of cats with retinal reattachment decreased with the duration of ocular abnormalities,and cats with retinal reattachment had significantly higher initial systolic blood pressure than those without retinal reattachment(P＜0.05).Due to the high incidence of hypertension in elderly cats and the eyes being target organs for hypertensive damage,regular check-ups(including ophthalmic examinations)are recommended for elderly cats to effectively prevent such diseases.关键词
