Abstract
A canine presented with respiratory distress following head trauma was examined at our clinic.To diagnose and treat the underlying condition,the dog underwent physical examination,laboratory tests,and imaging studies.X-ray examination indicated non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema,and based on medical history and laboratory findings,the final diagnosis was neurogenic pulmonary edema(NPE).Treatment included continuous oxygen therapy,injection of butorphanol for sedation,and administration of furosemide for diuresis.Symptoms of the dog improved significantly after 18 hours of treatment.This case demonstrates that appropriate symptomatic treatment can lead to a favorable prognosis for animals with NPE caused by head trauma.关键词
