Abstract

[Background]Heat Shock Protein 20(HSP20)is an important protein family that plays a critical role in plant growth,development,and stress resistance.Currently,there is limited comprehensive research on HSP20 genes in tobacco.[Methods]Using bioinformatics analysis tools and the Solanaceae database,this study identified members of the HSP20 family in common tobacco and conducted related analyses.[Results]Fifty-eight HSP20 family genes were identified in tobacco,and evolutionary analysis divided them into 13 subfamilies,distributed across 13 chromosomes.Collinearity analysis indicated that there were 5 pairs of genes with chromosome segment duplications in tobacco.Cis-acting element analysis showed that upstream of NtHSP20 members contained a variety of cis-acting elements related to growth and stress response.The HSP20 family genes exhibited significant tissue-specific expression,with higher gene expression quantity and level in roots and stems,and lower in flowers.qRT-PCR analysis indicated that some members of the NtHSP20 family have a specific response to drought stress,with significant differences in gene expression levels at different stress stages.[Conclusion]This study lays the foundation for further research into the mechanisms of growth,development,and stress resistance in the tobacco HSP20 family.
