Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of Mailuo Shutong Pills combined with Glucosamine Hydrochloride Tablets in the treatment of elderly knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Method:A total of 94 elderly patients with KOA treated in the Department of Orthopaedics,Tai'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2021 to April 2023 were selected and divided into control group(treated with Glucosamine Hydrochloride Tablets)and observation group(combined with Mailuo Shutong Pills on the basis of control group)by random number table method,with 47 cases in each group.The clinical efficacy,pain mediators[prostaglandin E2(PGE2),substance P(SP),dopamine(DA)],pain score[visual analogue scale(VAS)],joint function[Western Ontario and McMaster Universities(WOMAC)osteoarthritis index,Lequesne index],inflammatory factors[interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3)],stress response indicators[nitric oxide(NO),superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA)]in two groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,PGE2,SP,DA,IL-1β,TNF-α,MMP-3,NO,MDA,VAS score,WOMAC osteoarthritis score index and Lequesne index were decreased and SOD were increased in both groups,and the above indexes in observation group were better than those in control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The effect of Mailuo Shutong Pills combined with Glucosamine Hydrochloride Tablets in elderly patients with KOA is significant,which can reduce inflammation,stress response,reduce the level of pain mediators,and improve joint function.关键词
