Discussion on the Current Status of Hospital Pharmacists Participating in Pharmaceutical Popular Science Work and Its Development Path

Abstract
Objective To understand the current status of hospital pharmacists participating in pharmaceutical popular science work,and to improve their ability to participate in this work.Methods A total of 437 pharmacists working in hospitals of different levels in Sichuan were selected as the respondents by the overall sampling method,the questionnaires were distributed and recovered by the QuestionStar-WeChat mini program from January 3 to January 7,2024 to understand the pharmacists'knowledge and attitudes towards pharmaceutical popular science work.Results A total of 437 questionnaires were distributed,and 432 were effectively recovered,with an effective recovery rate of 98.86% .There were majority of respondents with the educational background of bachelor degree,technical title of pharmacist and chief pharmacist,work experience of 10 years or more;there were 28(6.48% ),230(53.24% )and 174 pharmacists(40.28% )received regular,occasional,and no popular science-related training,respectively.The pharmacists' recognition level of the three questions related to participating in popular science work was greater than 90%;the proportion of pharmacists who had a good evaluation of the five questions related to individual comprehensive ability in participating in popular science work was lower than 50%,with the lowest of 10.88%;the pharmacists' satisfaction rate of the five questions related to existing popular science works and review mechanisms was in the range of 58.56%-75.23% .Writing popular science articles was the most frequent form of relevant work that pharmacists actually participated in,involving 163 pharmacists;the short videos were considered the most frequently-involved and the most satisfactory popular science form,involving 332 and 395 pharmacists,respectively;the popular science related to medication for special populations was considered the most needed by the public,involving 351 pharmacists;the popular science works easy to understand were considered the most hopeful,involving 400 pharmacists;lack of time and energy was considered the greatest problem to participate in popular science work at present,involving 313 pharmacists.Conclusion It is recommended to establish a complete popular science training system for pharmacists,encourage pharmacists to actively participate in the creation and promotion of pharmaceutical popular science to promote the improvement of pharmaceutical care level.关键词
