Abstract

Cold storage transportation is getting more and more attention because of its economic and energy-saving characteristics,and how to assess the carbon emission of cold storagetransportation has become one of the focuses of the industry.Based on the whole life cycle concept,the study constructs a carbon footprint model of the new railroad refrigerated transport equipment from cradle to grave and analyzes it.The study shows that the total carbon footprint of the refrigerated transportation equipment is 73.98 tCO2eq,which is 86.76%less than that of the traditional refrigerated transportation equipment;the energy consumption during the operation storage phase is the most important source of carbon footprint contribution,accounting for 58.78%.The sensitivity analysis of the key influencing factors of the emission reduction path shows that the choice of refrigeration efficiency and energy type is closely related to the carbon footprint of refrigerated transportation equipment,and the improvement of refrigeration efficiency by 20%,40%and 60%can reduce the carbon footprint by 6.10%to 13.91%;compared with the carbon emission factor of the existing national grid,the choice of cleaner energy generation such as hydroelectricity,wind power,etc.can reduce the carbon footprint by 49.85%to 59.73%.The study can provide a reference for the development and use of cold storage equipment.
